Embrace Your Unique Creative Spark: How Doing Things Your Own Way Brings Joy and Success

Hey there! I’ve been noticing something lately that I think is really important.

It’s something I see so many people getting wrong, and it’s one of the biggest factors that can drain all the fun and creativity from your life. It’s simple, but crucial: Whatever you do, make sure you do it your own way.

When you approach something in a way that’s authentic to you, it adds a layer of fun, freedom, and creativity that nothing else can replicate. You need to do it in a way that’s fun for you, in a way that feels cool to you, and in the way you want it to look. This is your life, and you get to shape it on your terms.

Following Others Can Be Inspiring, But Don’t Lose Your Unique Spark

It’s totally fine to be inspired by others, and it’s great to follow people you admire—especially if you see them being successful. For example, if you’re in business, it can be tempting to follow someone else’s exact formula, especially if it seems to have worked for them. Maybe their method seems like it gets the best results, in terms of revenue or success.

But here’s the thing: the only way to truly satisfy your heart, your inner child, and your authentic self is by doing things your own way. Even if you’re following someone else’s advice, make sure you’re still making it your own. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel, but you should make it fun for you. Do it in a way that taps into your creativity, the way that feels most aligned with who you are.

It’s Okay to Be Imperfect—And It’s More Fun That Way!

Take a look at my own YouTube channel, for example. The way I make my videos isn’t necessarily the most typical way to get views. My thumbnails aren’t flashy or designed to catch a million eyes. I don’t have a scripted intro or outro, and I’ll be honest—the video quality is far from perfect. But you know what? I still love how I do it.

I set up my camera however I feel like it (sometimes in odd spots), add some music, and simply talk about what interests me. I don’t worry about following a rigid formula. I show tarot cards, talk off the cuff, and let the conversation flow. And you know what? I enjoy every second of it. That’s how I like it, and it works for me.

If you want to see what I mean, check out my most recent video here!

This can be really helpful advice for those of you who are perfectionists. Perfectionism often shows up in unexpected ways. You might not consider yourself a perfectionist, and you may not think you’re particularly successful, but perfectionism can manifest in avoiding things altogether. Maybe you hold back from starting something because you’re afraid it won’t be perfect, and that fear stops you from even trying.

If you’re focusing too much on making everything perfect, you’re losing sight of what really matters—the process and the fun in it. By detaching from the outcome and bringing joy into whatever you’re doing, you’ll find it much easier to take action.

Make it Playful: Creativity Flows When You Enjoy the Process

This brings me to the card I pulled for today’s message: Playfulness. This is the energy you tap into when you’re really enjoying yourself and embracing your creativity. When you’re in this mode, everything you do has a certain essence to it. It may not be the most efficient or result-driven approach, but it has something even more important—heart. It satisfies your soul.

So, here’s what I want you to take away from this: Let go of trying to make everything perfect or aiming for the most efficient results. Yes, you can still strive for success and effectiveness, but make sure your heart is in it. Do it in the way that you think is cool. Don’t worry about what others might think is cool—that’s impossible to know anyway. Just focus on what feels right for you, and you’ll see that people will be drawn to your energy. They’ll recognize the authenticity and the creativity you bring to whatever you’re doing.

When you embrace that creative energy, you’ll find that the results you achieve will be more fulfilling—because you’ll be creating from a place of passion and playfulness.

That’s it for today’s post. I hope you found this reminder helpful, and I encourage you to go out there and create something in your own unique way. Don’t get caught up in trying to be perfect—just make sure your heart is in it. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you in the next post!
